So far I have developed a Council of Kings, sorted out the particulars of how magic is used and magic users in general along with the first of many armies to dot the landscape.
First let’s discuss the Council of Kings. Created by the dragons of old after the Dead Wars, it was a way for the various rulers of the world to work out their differences and become aware of what was happening throughout the realms away from the intrigue and biases of their respective courts. It is held in a deep underground room whose sole access came from a runic stone. Each ruler was only allowed to be accompanied by two others of their choice before the portal closed. Once created, the dragons presided over the proceedings for a few years before the Great Leaving in which the dragons left the world of man to fend for itself. I think the Council could add alot to a few different storylines in which it plays a major part in the intrigues between rulers.
Second is magic. This is where things start to get interesting. Everyone is born with innate magic ability. Some races are prone to have stronger ties to the Earth and as such stronger magical power. Even those with small magical power are able to cast spells with the use of Runic Stones. Runic Stones are created using a rare form of volcanic stone for fire and other types for other kinds of spells. Dedicated mages are born with a high magical power yet still have to study for years to learn the intricacies of the spells they cast. The stones are created from the combined talents of mages and master craftsmen who fashion each stone to specific dimensions along with a chiseled rune in the center of each one. Each one is hand crafted and as such are prohibitively expensive.
More to come…
WOW 👍 I really like how you’ve described the storyline! It’s going to be an exciting read!📚🤗
